he USCTTA encourages, promotes, and facilitates organized Classic Table Tennis events within the United States of America. We use the term Classic Table Tennis to describe the type of style that the great players of the 1930s to the 1950s played, using wood paddles covered with pimpled rubber. These paddles are now referred to as Hardbats, to distinguish them from to the modern paddles that use sponge rubber underneath the pimpled rubber, which is usually glued to the sponge rubber with the pimples facing the sponge.
You can learn more about Classic Hardbat Table Tennis by following this link. The USCTTA is a very young organization and is still being formalized by its founders. Are you interested in helping shape the USCTTA for the future? Please contact us via this E-mail address: info@usctta.org.
About the Hardbat Ratings
Dr. Scott Gordon maintains the Official Hardbat Ratings and publishes them at his web site at: www.hardbat.com
For ten-best lists click on Ratings on this site.
Seeding and eligibility
The hardbat ratings are used for seeding in all hardbat events in sanctioned tournaments. However, the USATT sponge rating determines eligibility even for hardbat ratings events. So, a player with a hardbat rating of 1600 and a USATT sponge rating of 1450 may play in a U1500 hardbat event
